Let's go F'ing Mental!

It is that time again. Time to go fucking mental at a football match.  The game starts at noon, but I'm already late for the pre-game festivities which start @ 8, but I'm still on the other side of the Ship Canal. So here is to the Sounders shooting down all 11 Harry Poters (aka KC Wizards) from the pitch.

Sounder Soccer - Away Trip Planning

So the MLS 2010 schedule was released a few days ago, and that means I can start scheduling some vacation time!

So far the only Sounders related trip I have strongly penciled in is Sept 17th - Sept 26.  It is book-ended by 2 games. The first one is in Columbus vs the Crew and the second in Chicago vs the FIre. I know I have friends in the area I could visit and at the very least I have never spent any time in the mid-west. So the plan is to fly into Columbus, rent a car, get to Chicago before the game on the 25thm and the fly back to Seattle.

So if any one wants a visitor at the end of September and lives within a 5 hour radius of any of those cities give me a call. My road trip does not need to be a straight line from point A to B, and preferable I hope the path will look like abstract art.

I'm thinking of also doing the RLS match early in the season since that is the "big" ECS west coast, and San Jose since I also have friends I would like to visit.

Here is the away schedule, let me know if you live near any of these places and would like a visit.  Can't promise anything. * next to ones I'm already thinking of going.

3 Saturday 4/10/10 6pm Away Real Salt Lake*
5 Thursday 4/22/10 5pm Away Dallas

14 Sunday 6/27/10/ 2pm Away Philadelphia Union
15 Sunday 7/4/10 7:30pm Away LA Galaxy
17 Thursday 7/15/10 5pm Away D.C. United

Lake City Holiday Project - Big Give

For the past several years I've help with a wonderful program that as helped give gifts to over 700 low-income children at holiday time. Originally known has the Lake City Christmas Project, the name as changed to reflect the diverse community it now serves. See for details and a history.

But the reason I'm make this post other to let you all know about this program is that I'm participating in a "Big Give" event where I was given $10 and was challenged to make it grow to at least $25 (it is an idea from the Oprah show apparently), and to use that money to buy gifts for the "forgotten" end of the spectrum for gift drive, homeless teenagers (13-18 years old).

For those of you in the Seattle area feel free to contact me if you are interested in helping out. For my friends across the world take a moment and consider donating similar items to a homeless teen program in your area.

*rain ponchos
*sleeping bags
*hat's, scarves, gloves
*hooded sweatshirts (large, x-large)

If you have any questions or would like to donate feel free to contact me or the Lake City Holiday Project directly.
